Income vs wealth
People confuse high income with being rich. They're not the same thing.
Income = money flowing IN. Salary, freelance, business revenue.
Wealth = money you've KEPT and grown. Investments, assets, savings.
A doctor earning ₹30 lakh a year with no savings is high-income, low-wealth. A small-business owner earning ₹6 lakh a year with ₹40 lakh invested over 15 years is moderate-income, high-wealth.
> The second person is freer. They can stop working tomorrow and live for years. The doctor can't.
Two laws to live by
1. What you keep matters more than what you earn. A ₹10K raise eaten by lifestyle creep is worth nothing.
2. Wealth compounds. Income doesn't. Investments work while you sleep. Salary stops the moment you do.
Almost every person who hits financial freedom in their 30s or 40s did one thing. They aggressively converted income into wealth in their 20s. They didn't out-earn their friends. They out-saved them.
Takeaway. High income without wealth is fragile. Keep more of what you earn, invest the rest.
